Meet Kathi Johnson, the developer and curator of Digital Gathering.
In my full-time ministry, I serve as the Associate Pastor at Zion Lutheran Church of San Antonio. I developed Digital Gathering (or "dg") in 2017 as part of my doctoral work. Digital Gathering combines two of my great loves: Christian spirituality and social media. My husband and I live in San Antonio with our two schnauzers. In her spare time, she enjoys yoga, walking, gardening, baking, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
Digital Gathering emerged from a conversation with a church member as I was trying to develop a project for my doctoral program. It began with me asking the question, "I wonder if..." From that question, and through work in my doctoral program, I set my sermon into a simple and short format which includes: Welcome, Prayer, Scripture, Reflection, and Blessing. With dg, you can explore Christian spirituality, no matter who you are, where you live, and what you do or don't believe about God. At the "Reflect" link above, you'll find a variety of writing, art, and music.
Now that I'm done with my doctoral work (hooray!), I am in the process of discerning what's next for dg. Stay tuned!
